Prayer Palace junior minister doesn't mention Star exposé of lavish lifestyles

Head pastor Paul Melnichuk and his twin sons, junior pastors Tom and Tim Melnichuk, each own multi-million dollar estates north of the city, they share a waterfront vacation villa in Florida and drive luxurious cars, including Porsches, a Lexus, a Mercedes-Benz and BMWs. The pastors have refused repeated requests for comment. Reporters were told that written questions submitted to the pastors via the church regarding their properties and other possessions were "not related to charities."

Prayer Palace and the Melnichuks were the subject of a recent Sunday Star investigation that found the church's three pastors living in multi-million-dollar mansions and enjoying a lavish Florida hideaway while encouraging the largely poor congregation to tithe a percentage of their income. At the same time, the Star investigation found, the church reportedly took in some $3 million from its members in 2005, while doling out a minuscule $9,443 to "benevolent and charity" activities.

The church's financial documents raise numerous questions. Total salaries for the pastors and other staff (it's unclear how many are paid) was listed on Prayer Palace documents as more than $1 million in 2005, the last year reported, up from about $750,000 two years earlier. The most recent documents show one salary of more than $119,000 – likely that of Pastor Paul – and three salaries between $80,000 and $119,000.

In addition, Prayer Palace financial statements show "housing allowances" of more than $125,000, but the documents don't specify the recipients.

The documents also show annual vehicle and travel expenses have doubled in the past two years, jumping to more than $175,000. The original cost of the vehicles in the Prayer Palace fleet is over $500,000. Documents obtained by the Star show the red Mercedes convertible is registered to the Canadian church but kept at the pastor's Florida villa.

The Star found the pastors and their wives also drive, besides the Lexus and Porsche SUVs, an Audi A6S sedan, BMW 7 Series and 3 Series sedans, a Lincoln LS and Towncar, and a red, oversized Dodge pickup. The Lexus is also kept in Florida. http://www.thestar.com/printArticle/187986

Yes, just like other corrupt and perverted Pentecostals Pastors in America the leadership of the Brownsville revival became money changers by setting up personal non-profit corporations by which they could personally profit from the revival while pretending they were men of integrity and the Pensacola News Journal did an excellent job in reporting this fact!

 The Pensacola News Journal reported on November 16, 1997 that Top ministers cash in with own products. The Brownsville Revival has generated a multi-million dollar retail industry, conducted within the walls of the church.  Inside the church's double front doors, tapes, T-shirts and similar revival-generated products are offered for sale all during the day and until about an hour after the revival is under way at night.  The crowds that stand in line throughout the day to get good seats for the night-time revival are a steady source of customers.  Even as the revival service is under way, people leave the pews to browse and buy. At times, the customers are so densely packed that people have to suck in their stomachs and step sideways to pass one another in the merchandise-laden corridor and lobby.  The products are sold not only by the church but also by individual corporations created by the revival leaders.  Most profit figures are unclear. 

It’s very sad that prominent Pentecostal Revivalists in America such as Steve Hill, John Kilpatrick and even Jimmy Swaggart have no integrity whatsoever!  CNN aired  on Sunday November 2, 1997 a documentary about former Assembly of God  Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart whose ministry net worth is one hundred million dollars  and is run by the Swaggart family.  Financial statements alone of the Jimmy Swaggart Evangelistic Association do not reveal the fact that Jimmy Swaggart, his wife and his son, earn over six hundred thousand dollars in annual salaries and drive a fleet of six Mercedes Benz.  Jimmy Swaggart lied on camera when questioned by CNN about his salary.  He stated he was not really drawing a salary although IRS records showed otherwise.

Yes, it is a very sad state when prominent TV Evangelists such as Jimmy  Swaggart who can shout, dance and preach better than the rest of them lie about their salaries and hide them. In addition the financial statements of JSEA do not reveal that Jimmy Swaggart Ministry loaned Jimmy 4.2 million dollars to build his fancy estate.

How many times have believers been subjected to mishandled scripture with an implicit or explicit "touch not God's anointed" if any dared to question? This is in contrast to the Biblical admonition to "try the spirits", (1 John 4:1). Fear is not of God and teaching which incorporates psychological intimidation is corrupt and deceptive. One of the easiest ways to determine what "spirit" motivates a person "in authority" is to question them. A godly man or woman will never be offended or become indignant if someone dares to question them and compare what is said with the Word of God. However, if one is motivated by an "authoritarian" spirit of conceit or arrogance, the questioner will soon know it. Peter warned the elders (pastors and spiritual guides of the church) not to be domineering [arrogant, dictatorial, overbearing] over the flock of God, but to be patterns and models of Christian living (I Pet. 5:3, AMPL.)

 Many prominent pastors and evangelists today make the claim that because "souls" are being saved and "healings" take place in their meetings, that this somehow validates their ministry. While these things may be well and good, they are no indication of "divine" sanction. A.A. Allen was a drunkard, Jimmy Swaggart a whoremonger, Jim Bakker a thief, Larry Lea a prevaricator, and Robert Tilton a charlatan - yet ALL of these saw thousands saved and miracles take place in their meetings. Because one is blessed with "prosperity" and has a "following" of thousands, doesn't mean a darn thing when it comes to integrity and godly sanction, for "he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust," (Matt. 5:45).

 Twenty-six years ago I experienced the greatest miracle of my life - salvation and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This experience came in a Pentecostal "holiness" church where, unbeknown to me at the time, the pastor was committing adultery, one of the deacons (or "pillars" of the church as they were called) visited a prostitute on a regular basis, another deacon kept a large supply of porno magazines in his home, and still another was a philanderer. This taught me that just because God moves in a particular setting, it is no indication that those who bear the message are "godly."(TOUCH NOT MINE ANOINTED? By John R. The measure of a man is not how much power, wealth and fame that he has but how he handles these things. Unfortunately “power corrupts.” The media, Independent (England), June 15, 2003, reported that ‘Jim Bakker's back’:

The life of Jim Bakker, the world's most famous fallen tele-evangelist, has always been about numbers, and we are not just talking hymns and psalms. There was the $1.9m salary he paid himself in 1986, the last full year that he led the Praise The Lord (PTL) Ministry that he founded in 1972 with his thickly mascara'd wife, Tammy Faye. At the time, he owned six luxury mansions, 47 bank accounts and a single Rolls-Royce. He was accustomed to raising $1m from his TV-goggling disciples across America every two days. Then came 1989, when he was charged, and convicted, on 24 counts of fraud and conspiracy for stealing $3.7m from his flock to fund his fabulous lifestyle.

We could go on in this vein for ever. It was never exactly clear how many sexual partners (allegedly both women and men) he enjoyed in those crazy days before his reckoning with the law and crushing humiliation. We do know he paid $265,000 in cash to buy the silence of a church secretary he had been involved with in 1980.

The opulence of the Bakkers' lifestyle at the height of their reign could not be measured in simple figures, however. They enjoyed the American Dream, but a garishly inflated version of it. They had an air-conditioned dog kennel and gold-plated bathrooms. Theirs was the kind of money that bought everything except good taste. Tammy Faye, who used glove puppets to help explain the Word of the Lord on air, is still seen today as the gold standard for eye shadow run amok. There is even a documentary film about her simply called The Eyes of Tammy Faye Bakker. Jim had a monkey face. His apple-shiny cheeks contrived to look at once bloated and stretched.

The Bakkers flaunted their wealth and used it to raise more and more of it. They offered a model of extravagant living that viewers drank in, presumably not in a spirit of post-modern irony. At its peak, the PTL broadcasts touched 13.5 million American households every day. The Bakkers are still being pursued for $3m (£1.9m) in unpaid income tax.

… Bakker was defrocked by his denomination, the Assemblies of God, for "conduct unbecoming of a minister", and all of America, and his fellow television evangelists, turned against him. Jerry Falwell publicly declared Bakker a sexual deviant, an embezzler and a liar. After taking over the PTL Club, as it was known, and taking it into bankruptcy, Falwell called its founder "the greatest scab and cancer on the face of Christianity in two thousand years of church history". Few at the time disagreed.

 Where is the justice or integrity in all of this?

Yes, where is the justice or integrity in all of this? Christian Religionists, Evangelicals, Baptists,  Charismatics and Pentecostals, all teach, that as stewards of God, everything we have belongs to Him and it is very important that we provide: “Honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.” (2 Corinthians 8:21)

Yet, very few churches and religious organizations, who although they state they believe the bible and the importance to provide “honorable things,” most of them don’t belong to an organization that practices financial responsibility and open accountability. Also, they keep the salary of the senior pastor of the Church or the senior evangelist, a secret. Why? I can’t answer that, but I do know it does give offense, in the secular and religious world. If you are honorable there is no reason not to reveal your income if it is within acceptable norms.

The salaries of other public servants, including the President of United States and the first Lady, are known.    In an intelligent society such as ours, any church or organization that is not openly accountable, shouldn’t be soliciting money from its members or adherents, who are the public at large. Somehow, all churches and church corporations should be warned and told they must be accountable, and be open and do all things above board where possible.

Many pastors and evangelists in America live and behave like kings of their own kingdoms, rather than like servants of the living God, as they should be. Humility and submission are words they must reintroduce into their own vocabulary and lives before they teach others. Contrary to many pastors’ and evangelists’ point of view, we as Christians don’t exist primarily to serve them or to give them money but to serve the King of kings and Lord or lords. In our Heavenly Father’s eyes, we are all equally important. He has no favorites and is definitely not a respecter of persons and shows partiality to no one-although, some pastors and evangelists would like us to believe otherwise.

One thing can be said for the Rev. Karl Strader -- he just refuses to go away quietly. A year after giving up the most visible symbol of his one-time religious conglomerate -- the monumental Carpenter's Home Church sanctuary -- Strader is now 76 and fighting prostate cancer. And after experiencing the loss of a once-thriving ministry and seeing one of his sons serve years in jail, his theology now embraces a concept not much talked about in his Pentecostal tradition -suffering.

Like a Shakespearean king or a biblical patriarch, Strader has divided the dwindling Carpenter's Home Church into two congregations and given them to his son and son-in-law. Stephen Strader is remodeling a former Scotty's hardware store as a home for Ignited Church on the north side of Lakeland, and Shane Simmons has taken over the Auburndale Life Church.

Technically, Carpenter's Home still exists as a "multisite" church in the two locations, with Strader as an overseer or bishop. Auburndale Life Church operates under the nonprofit charter held by Carpenter's Home, although Ignited Church now has a separate legal identity. But there is no longer a single congregation that bears the name so long identified with Strader. He preaches at a Sunday morning service in Auburndale and on Sunday afternoon at Ignited Church, which suits him fine.

I have extensively researched, investigated and read the Articles of Incorporation, the Bylaw and Policy Manual of Carpenter’s Home Church, Florida and about the Straders.  And it’s a fact that Pastor Karl Strader stole the First Assembly of God church later renamed Carpenter’s Home Church from the members after the failed coup attempt of 1989. He and Joe Perez rewrote the articles of the Incorporation that made Carpenter’s Home Church the sole property of Karl Strader to do whatever he wanted with it.

And this is also true of Benny Hinn, Rodney Howard Brown, TACF John Arnott and Hamilton’s Peter Marshall who own their nonprofit organization and do whatever they want with the money, the staff, etc.  Their so called churches are not churches in the true sense of the word but money making machines.  They have made themselves fat with the best offering of God’s people including what a true man of God stated in 1 Samuel

December 2nd 2003 - DALLAS (EP) – A board member of a Florida televangelist’s organization has been arrested in a massive scheme that defrauded churches, religious organizations and their leaders out of more than $160 million, federal officials said.  According to the Associated Press, Torsten Thomas Henschke, 48, and four others tied to IPIC International Inc. were taken into custody on securities fraud and money laundering charges, federal prosecutors said Nov. 18 after unsealing an indictment.  

At the center of the IPIC scandal is Gregory Earl Setser, 47, a self-proclaimed former minister accused of exploiting his connections to highly visible evangelical Christians.  Setser used his relationship with retired charismatic preacher Ralph Wilkerson, an early investor, to meet new prospects and sell IPIC securities, Galloway said. Wilkerson introduced Setser to televangelists and pastors, who in turn introduced Setser to their followers, according to the complaint.

K. Hadden and Charles E. Swann in their book Prime Time Preachers told us that no Pastor or Preacher in America is exempt from going down in flames when subject to public exposure:

From its modest $65 beginning, the Rex Humbard Ministry was worth millions. And it was all paid for by private contributions. Still, like those of many of his fellow television colleagues, Rex's ministry appeared ever on the brink of bankruptcy. On his April 13, 1980, broadcast he made an impassioned plea for immediate cash contributions needed to stave off disaster. The program was $2.5 million behind in its obligations, and Humbard was running an average of four months behind in payments to stations for TV time.

Humbard's appeals brought in $4 million and wiped out the debt. About the same time, a Cleveland Press writer discovered that Rex and two of his sons, who work with him on the television ministry, had purchased a home and condominiums in Florida valued at $650,000 with down payments of $177,500 in cash.

A lot of people have long believed that preachers, especially the evangelical variety, have their hands in the offering plate. In light of this belief, the timing of Humbard's corporate debt and personal investment certainly didn't make him look very good. And he didn't help his own cause any when he told the prying Press reporter, "My people don't give a hoot what I spend that money for."

He later said that what he meant was that his people don't care how he spends his own money, but that's not the way it came across. The wire services and network television quoted old Rex as saying plainly and simply, "My people don't give a hoot what I spend that money for." The implication was that the dollars he had so recently solicited to pay off corporate debts had been used to provide second homes for him and his family in Florida.

It's quite possible that a lot of Rex's loyal followers wouldn't have cared a whole lot if he was dipping into the collection plate just a mite. He and Maud Aimee and the kids and grandkids have brought a lot of happiness into people's lives over the years, and with Maude Aimee being sick now and all, the Humbards ought to be entitled to a few little comforts

So what does it say about all this idiotic loving fearful Christians who are afraid to defend in public their positions concerning anything including soaking, laughing, anointed ones, tithing, etc. and run away from Walter Kambulow?

It says they are cowards and fearful ones who cannot stand the test of public scrutiny!

1 Timothy 1:5 Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith, 1:6 from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk, 1:7 desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm.

SYNOPOSIS

Ephesians 1:15  Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 1:16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 1:17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 1:18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 1:19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 1:20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 1:21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 1:22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 1:23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Ephesians 4:11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 4:13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 4:14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 4:15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head-Christ- 4:16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

Being slain the Spirit or soaking is not mentioned in the great epistle of Ephesians. SPEAKING THE TRUTH IN LOVE AND GROWING UP IN ALL THINGS INTO CHRIST IS THE THEME OF THE EPISTLES OF PAUL NOT EXPERIENCES OR SOAKING OR EVEN WITNESSING TO OTHERS AS WONDERFUL AS THEY MIGHT BE?

It’s a fact that there is an arrogance and intolerance amongst the Third Wave leadership who look down and consider inferior those who refuse to be slain or mimic them.  There is a delusion in the large  numbers idea, and  the idea that something is right because there are numbers of people who have been deceived by something. Numbers have never been right with God but the one man who does His will and only His will. And that is why the bible states - 1COR 10:5 But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.

 We need ministers today that have one thing in mind, and one thing only, and that is total surrender and obedience to God. We don't need any more copycats in the body of Christ especially of experiences!  Instead, we need servants of God who only want to serve God, build His kingdom and please Him, and Him only.   We, as the body of Christ, should have the utmost respect for the individual who is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice of giving up their will and doing the will of the Lord, no matter how great the sacrifice may be for them. It is far better that we please God, and be persecuted and ridiculed by our brothers and sisters in the Lord, than to please those whom we love, and displease the Lord.

The purpose of ministry is not to give anybody an experience but to bring Christians to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. And when a minister fails to do this, he is a failure no matter what he says or thinks or other says or think!

It’s a phenomena that I have observed in many meetings and talking with many leaders associated with Rodney Howard Browne or Third wave is that they are egotistic, arrogant and proud and even liars and think that because they have a sign and wonder manifestation then they are right in all areas of doctrines as well as other areas.

I have sat quite a few times listening to Rodney in Tampa and  lot of stuff he has espoused is shear garbage. Unlike the good old Baptists his sermons are not laced with scriptures but just continually talk about laughter and anointing.

I have been in churches where the laughter manifestation of slain in the spirit broke out and it did absolutely no good to members or the community.  There was no visible change except everybody swore that it was wonderful. And it is a fact that sin is wonderful  and there is great pleasure in it but the end result is death. But  Jesus told us what was important in life and it was not soaking or being slain in the Spirit:

MT 12:46  While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him. 12:47 Then one said to Him, "Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You." 12:48 But He answered and said to the one who told Him, "Who is My mother and who are My brothers?" 12:49 And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, "Here are My mother and My brothers! 12:50 "For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother."

MK 12:29 Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is: 'Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. 12:30 'And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment. 12:31 "And the second, like it, is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

I do have not much respect for those who are slain the spirit or soak. I find very little change in their lives or character or faith except they become egotistic and even arrogant and proud.  A true experience must result in being like Jesus in the fruits of the spirit and ministering to others in the gifts of the Spirit especially to the poor and needy not the rich and mighty.  Being slain in the spirit and soaking are a poor substitute for the Word of God and praying in tongues which is the main building blocks of the Christian faith. God’s word is true:

2TM 3:15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

JUDE 1:20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 1:21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Isaiah 40:27  Why do you say, O Jacob,  And speak, O Israel:  "My way is hidden from the LORD, And my just claim is passed over by my God"?  40:28 Have you not known?  Have you not heard?  The everlasting God, the LORD,  The Creator of the ends of the earth,  Neither faints nor is weary.  His understanding is unsearchable. 40:29 He gives power to the weak,  And to those who have no might He increases strength. 40:30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,  And the young men shall utterly fall, 40:31 But those who wait on the LORD  Shall renew their strength;  They shall mount up with wings like eagles,  They shall run and not be weary,  They shall walk and not faint.

 ACTS 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

If God gives power to the weak why are most Christians defeated, deceived or disgusting? It’s a fact that in spite of their words, experiences and theology most Christians cannot display power! Why is that?

And God’s word is still true:

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Hebrews 13:20  Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,  13:21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

The demonization of Christians including Evangelicals and Third Wave begins by ignoring the Helper, the Holy Spirit

JER 17:5 Thus says the LORD: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD.

JN 16:7 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.

JN 16:12 "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 16:13 "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 16:14 "He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 16:15 "All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

1JN 2:27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.

The Holy Spirit, alone, is the Spirit of truth not pastors nor Todd Bentley.  Jesus never said he would go away and send back people who would lead us into all truth or who would pray for us.  Rather He said He would send back the Holy Spirit who will guide us into all truth and through tongues help us to pray in the Spirit the perfect will of God. Deception and demonization of Christians begins when they ignore the Helper and  they start trusting and relying upon people instead of the Holy Spirit.  

As I have said many times anything anybody says or teaches must always be checked with the Holy Spirit who alone is our guide, our counselor, our helper, our miracle worker and everything that He was to Jesus.  He is the one who made order out of chaos “in the beginning” in Genesis 1, who raised Jesus Christ from the dead, and is capable of teaching and telling us anything just like He did for apostle Paul who learned from the Holy Spirit and no one else.  If we lose or ignore Him we truly become losers. God’s word is true:

Revelations 2:1 "To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, '  These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: 2:2 "I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; 2:3 "and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name's sake and have not become weary. 2:4 "Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 2:5 "Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place-unless you repent. 2:6 "But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 2:7 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God." '

Peter the disciple of Jesus Christ was with Him always and yet he denied Him. It was because he feared that he too would be judged with Jesus Christ and beaten with Him. But when the Holy Spirit came on him, he was filled with power and boldness, the same Peter preached to 3000 people who were delivered from sin. Another time when he preached, 5000 people were saved. All the people were astonished at how an unlettered person could preach with such boldness (Acts 4:13).

The Holy Spirit performed extra ordinary healings even through the shadow of Peter that people brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. God healed all who were brought to him (Acts 5:15,16).

The disciples of Jesus Christ were a completely changed people when the Holy Spirit came upon them. God used them mightily to spread the Gospel and to perform miracles.

God will do the same through you also. “And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power” (I Corinthians 6:14).

God anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil (Acts 10:38). Yes, for a successful ministry you need the power of the Holy Spirit to transform lives.

God has said that He would pour out His spirit upon all flesh in Joel 2:28.

Yes, when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will become a transformed person. So, cry out to Him to fill you with The Holy Spirit. The Lord, the King of Glory will fill you with His power and might to help you lead an upright life. The power of God will transform your life also. When armed with the Holy Spirit, you will be a victorious person in everything. Success, and honour and blessings shall never cease following you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father,  I thank You for the Holy Spirit. Father God, fill me too with the Holy Spirit without measure as You had filled Jesus Christ. Lord, I thank You that You have already ordained me as more than a conqueror in life. Transform my life and use me to bring hope to others. Do mighty miracles through me. Use me for Your glory. In Jesus' Name I pray.

It’s to be noted that you can believe that God is the Eternal, infinite, unchangeable, perfect in holiness, wisdom, goodness, justice, power and love and still not obey Him?

You can believe that from all eternity He exists as the One Living and True God in three persons of one substance, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory and still murder, lie and steal? Why there are even pastors and preachers who do these kinds of things and yet they believe and say the different Christian creeds.

You can believe that God's kingdom is everlasting and that from His throne, through His Son, His eternal Word, God created, upholds and governs all that exists including the heavenly places, the angelic hosts, the universe, the earth, every living thing and mankind and that He created all things very good and still not trust Him to get your needed miracle?

You can believe that Satan, originally a great, good angel, rebelled against God, taking a host of angels with him and He was cast out of God's presence and, as a usurper of God's rule, established a counter-kingdom of darkness and evil on the earth and still be deceived by Him and accept unknowingly doctrine of demons, such as “Once saved, always saved!”

You can believe that God created mankind in His own image, male and female, for relationship with Himself and to govern the earth and that under the temptation of Satan, our original parents fell from grace, bringing sin, sickness and God's judgment of death to the earth and through the fall, Satan and his demonic hosts gained access to God's good creation and live in defeat and failure and not manifest the victories of the cross in your life?

You can believe that Jesus came into the world, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin as fully God and fully man in one person, was anointed as God's Messiah and empowered by the Holy Spirit, to resist temptation, preach the good news of salvation, heal the sick, cast out demons  and raise the dead and not do the works that Jesus did?

You can believe whatever you want to believe about the bible, the Old and New Testament and not love your neighbor as yourself? 

You can graduate from Seminary, call yourself a Christian and reject the “Baptism of the Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit” and be a blind one leading the blind?

You can be very sincere and religious and still go to hell for not obeying the teachings of Jesus on certain matters as being reconciled to an offended brother or not being a respecter of persons?

The things that people believe are one thing and the things that they say and do, as Christians, are another thing! This dichotomy or contradiction is very common in the lives of many people who call themselves Christians. And yet they think that somehow God will make all things right for them because after all they are sincere and presumptive on His grace and they are His children? But God’s word is unchanging:

Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea,   all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,  all ate the same spiritual food,  and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.   But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.

Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted.  And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play."  Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell;  nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents;   nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

 Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.  Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.  No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.   Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. 1 Corinthians 10:1-14

God, who knows the hearts of all men, gives His grace to those who really need it, but no one fools Him. Those who continue to lie and deceive themselves and others that they are Christians, even though their actual behavior is against the Word of God, will find themselves in places they never expected to be. Neither Peter nor Judas asked the LORD for forgiveness of their sin of betraying Jesus. But the LORD forgave Peter for betraying Him before men but He never forgave Judas for the same sin.  For God’s word is unchanging:

So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?"  He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Feed My lambs."   He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Tend My sheep."  He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You."  Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep. "Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish."  This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, "Follow Me."

Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, "Lord, who is the one who betrays You?" Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, "But Lord, what about this man?" Jesus said to him, "If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me." John 21:15-22

Tares and Wheat and the Church of the Flesh and of the Spirit

Matthew  13:24  Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 13:25 "but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 13:26 "But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 13:27 "So the servants of the owner came and said to him, 'Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?' 13:28 "He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' The servants said to him, 'Do you want us then to go and gather them up?' 13:29 "But he said, 'No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 13:30 'Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn." ' "

1COR 3:16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?   3:17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

1COR 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

Why should anybody be surprised at what goes on in the church of the flesh including adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; And yes those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God even if they are pastors, preachers, tv evangelists and other wolves in sheep’s clothing.  But the true church is not a human structure of any form but a heavenly structure of sheep who are the temples of the Holy Spirit! God’s word is unchanging:

Ephesians 2:19  Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 2:20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 2:21 in whom the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 2:22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
